Partner of the Riva Trophy, F.P.Journe took the legendary road from Monaco to St-Tropez from June 29 to 30, 2018. The Riva Trophy is the jewel in the crown of the Riviera sporting and social calendar, the most prestigious rendez-vous and sea competition in the French Riviera for passionate Riva owners from all over the globe. The emotion of a real competition is sharing the passion of both houses for impeccable craftsmanship.
Unforgettable experiences driven by the passion for the Riva heritage celebrated the 13th edition of the Riva Trophy hosted by Lia Riva, with the participation of the Yacht Club of Monaco, the most spectacular Riva models made their entrance as protagonists of the race, from the legendary Aquarama, Aquariva Super, Rivale ’52, Opera Super, Duchessa ‘92 to the Domino ’88.
Throughout the entire event, each stop did hold nautical contests; regularity race, mooring contest, buoy and knots contests, quiz, gastronomic delights and beach parties amongst which a lunch at the renowned Plage des Jumeaux beach and a fabulous dinner at La Digue, both in St-Tropez.
After a leisured Saturday morning tour, a brunch on the rooftop of the Capitainerie in the Port of St-Tropez awaited the participants with an horological quiz prepared by F.P.Journe. The most eccentric part of the Trophy, the Elegance contest, followed in the St-Tropez Port bay, under the theme “Dreaming of the Mediterranean, from Ibiza to Bodrum”.
After a return to Monaco, the closing evening took place on the terrace of the Yacht Club of Monaco in front of the iconic Aquarama Lounge entirely dedicated to Carlo Riva.
After a wonderful Gala dinner, the Riva Trophy 2018 Award ceremony named the winning teams and handed out the highly anticipated, one of a kind prizes. Among them, the new élégante by F.P.Journe trophy prize for the winning couple, Mrs Patricia Zobel de Ayala, Honorary Consul of the Philippines to Monaco and her godson Mr Cesare Poccianti, an élégante 40mm in Titanium with diamonds, luminescent dial and turquoise rubber strap for her, and the élégante 48mm in Titanium with luminescent dial and turquoise rubber strap for him. The appointment is taken for the Riva Trophy in summer 2020.
