About
An ingenius watch closure designed by Roland Iten for and with F.P.Journe - Invenit et Fecit.
As one of the industry’s most respected independent inventor-watchmakers, Francois-Paul Journe, recognizes creativity and ingenuity when he encounters it. In 2006, Francois-Paul has been increasingly fascinated by the inventiveness and originality of one Swiss creator of luxury accessories: Mr. Roland Iten.
Referring to the round cases of our watchmaking creations and the asymmetry of our dials, François-Paul Journe and Roland Iten have designed a circular buckle with a mechanism that allows the pin to be rotated to eight different positions, with each position 1 mm apart. This rotation takes place around the buckle's centre of closure, allowing an extension of 8 mm. Adjusting the strap is quick and easy, a convenience that appealed to the demanding designer François-Paul Journe, whose system has been patented.
In this new version by F.P.Journe, the buckle, as an accessory, now occupies the prestigious position it deserves.
